So I'm sitting here watching an episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, "The Measure of a Man" (season 2, episode 9), where Data's sentience is on trial. Anyway, he mentions a couple facts about himself:
- Ultimate data capacity: 800 quadrillion bits (~88.8 petabytes)
- Computational speed: 60 trillion opperations/sec (60 TFLOPS)
I thought I would check out Wikipedia and see if anyone had mentioned those facts, and of course, they did! On both the article about the teraflop and the article about the petabyte they mention the stats on Data. I love Wikipedia.
Oh and yeah... that's what I was doing on Valentine's Day.
